CNA Jobs in MT
Only three states—Alaska, Texas, and California—are larger than Montana, and only two—Alaska and Wyoming—are less densely populated. Montana is bordered by the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan to the north, North Dakota and South Dakota to the east, Wyoming to the south, and Idaho to the west. Although it takes its name from the Spanish state of Montana (“mountain” or “mountain”), Montana’s average elevation is only 3,400 feet (1,040 m), making it the lowest mountain state. The Rocky Mountains descend from British Columbia and extend from northwest to southeast in western Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.
The eastern part of the state, however, is a gently rolling landscape with millions of cattle and sheep grazing and only scattered traces of human settlement. It is part of the Northern Great Plains, shared with Alberta, Saskatchewan, North and South Dakota, and northeastern Wyoming. Elena is the capital. Residents of Montana are relatively far from markets for their products, as well as from the centers of production and supply of the country.
The state is largely oriented towards nature and activities such as summer and winter sports, hunting, and fishing. Long-distance travel is a common occasion for socializing and fun or a cure for anxiety on the prairies or mountains. Despite its northern location, Montana is a very western state. Helena’s main street is Last Chance Gorge, the town’s original name and a reminder of the prospectors who invaded the surrounding hills in the 1860s in search of gold. By 1889, when Montana became the 41st state in the union, cattle racing had become an institution and the state began to emerge as one of the nation’s leading copper mining centers.
Montana is called the Treasure State because of its vast mineral wealth. Nevada is bordered by Oregon and Idaho to the north, Utah to the east, Arizona to the southeast, and California to the west. It ranks seventh among the 50 US states by total area.
