Truckee Meadows Community College
Truckee Meadows Community College is a two-year college located in the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area of northern Nevada. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities accredited TMCC in 1971, and the student-faculty ratio is 20:1. The science department offers students a 6 semester credit hour CNA course (NURS130) that prepares students for certification as nursing assistants. The course includes classroom lecturing, lab instruction, and supervised clinical training at healthcare facilities in Reno and Sparks .
College of Southern Nevada
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is a community college located in Clark County. CSN has three main campuses in the Las Vegas Valley: Charleston, Henderson, and North Las Vegas. In addition to its main campuses, CSN also maintains eight learning centers. CSN is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Western Nevada College
Western Nevada College is a community college located in the northwestern part of the state in Carson City. The institution was founded in 1971, and has three campus locations: Carson City (main campus), Fallon, and Minden. In addition to its campuses, WNC has eight instruction centers. Students can take a 6-credit/150-hour CNA course offered by the college that prepares individuals to become certified as nursing assistants. All Western Nevada College students are required to complete an internship for their degree programs.
Great Basin College
Since its inception, GBC has undergone a number of name changes – from Elko Community College to Northern Nevada Community College to its current name. Its main campus is located in Elko, but it also maintains and smaller satellite campuses in 20 communities across the state. Located in the city of Elko in northeastern Nevada, Great Basin College is a public community college that was established in 1967.
Standards of Excellence Academy
Standards of Excellence Academy is a nonprofit educational institution focusing on vocational education for individuals who are interested in professional training in a specialized field. Since 2015, SoE has offered its students a Nursing Assistant program. The curriculum covers topics like medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, CPR, infection control, and law and ethics.
