CNA Jobs in MO

Missouri, USA. To the north is Iowa; to the east, across the Mississippi River, are Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee; to the south, Arkansas; and to the west are Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. With the exception of Tennessee, Missouri has more neighbors than any other state in the United States. The state is divided by the Missouri River, which flows from Kansas City in the west through Jefferson City, the state capital in the center, and joins the Mississippi River above St. Louis in the east.

Missouri was the name of a group of indigenous people who lived in the area when Europeans settled; the French named the river after the local community, which in turn gave its name to the state. Missouri is located near the center of the adjoining United States, where the forests of the east meet the grasslands of the west, the cotton fields of the south, and the cornfields of the north. From his admission as the 24th member of the Union on August 10, 1821, he represented the political and social mood of the border states.

The question of accepting it as a slave or free state gave rise to the Missouri Compromise (1820) in the US Congress, which regulated the spread of slavery in the Western Territory. Missouri was the westernmost state in the Union until Texas was admitted in 1845, and for decades was the eastern terminus of the Santa Fe and Oregon routes. For the West, St. Louis, one of Missouri’s largest cities, has long been the eastern state’s closest cultural contact and most stable society. In the eastern United States, Missouri is known as the main gateway to the west. Missouri embodies a unique and dynamic balance between urban and rural areas and between liberals and conservatives.

The state ranks high in the United States in terms of urbanization and industrial activity, but it also supports active and diversified agriculture. Numerous conservative features of rural life that prevailed until the 1930s have survived into the 21st century; in fact, Missouri’s nickname Show-Me State suggests a tradition of skepticism about change.
