Continuing Care Retirement Community Jobs in NH

CCRCs—continuing care retirement communities—provide a lifetime continuum of care for residents who may need assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing and dressing. These facilities have differing levels of care to meet the changing needs of the people they serve. A financially sound couple who wishes to maintain a strong relationship may find an ideal solution through CCRCs. Such a living arrangement can be particularly useful for elderly couples who want to continue living independently. The typical resident of a CCRC is an independent, 80-year-old single woman who is highly educated and physically fit.

The number of Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the United States has increased steadily over the past several decades, rising from about five hundred in 1980 to more than 1,200 in 2004. Currently, about 350,000 people live in CCRCs, and this number is expected to increase as a result of the growing number of individuals who meet the CCRC eligibility requirements. Entrance restrictions normally specify a minimum age, as well as a certain level of health and finances.
