Flu Crew Nurse Jobs in NY

The general definition of the term "flue crew" is not established in the health care industry. Some common uses include: traveling nurses who administer injections, a flu shot nurse who administers the influenza vaccine to patients at a facility, or a nurse who administers injections to staff and ensures that care givers are vaccinated.

For example, some flu shot nurses may work at a facility where only staff members who require backup vaccinations are vaccinated. However, they might also work to make sure that all employees—either in a specific department or for an entire company—receive the seasonal flu vaccine each year. Flu crew nurses may also be responsible for educating medical staff on when and how to administer vaccines.

To work as a flu shot nurse, one must receive certification and training in giving injections. Flu shot nurses usually work at hospitals, community centers, retail clinics, schools, corporations, health fairs and assisted-living facilities. Skills that are important for flu shot nurses are the ability to work independently, outstanding customer service skills and hospital experience.
