RN Jobs in HI

Discovered and colonized by Polynesian sailors from the 3rd to the 7th centuries AD; British captain James Cook is believed to have been the first European to arrive on the islands in 1778, on what is now Kauai Waimea (Cook in 1779 on the Big Island of Hawaii) of Kealakekua Bay). Hawaii was a territory until it became the 50th state in 1959. Hawaii became a territory in 1900, and Dole became its first governor. Racial attitudes and partisan politics in the United States delayed statehood until a bipartisan compromise was reached to link Hawaii to Alaska, both of which became states in 1959.

Meanwhile, the Hawaiian throne passed to Queen Lilio Karani, who determined that the root cause of Hawaii’s problems was foreign interference. Under the leadership of a hereditary monarch, the inhabitants of the kingdom established an independent state. Only a few outlying territories in Africa and Asia and the outer Pacific islands remained free from imperial rule. The islands were incorporated into the United States in 1900 as U.S. territories, and the population grew and a system of sugar cane and pineapple plantations was established.

The Americans became firmly established in Hawaii through the sugar trade. The Hawaiian sugar planters were now selling out in the American market, and depression swept the islands as a result. The first “visitors” to the Hawaiian Islands didn’t know what to expect and didn’t even know the islands existed. Interest in Hawaii arose in America as early as 1820, when New England missionaries were earnestly seeking to spread their faith.

Since the 1840s, the main goal of foreign policy has been to keep European powers away from Hawaii. The 1898 annexation of Hawaii The 1898 U.S. annexation of Hawaii extended U.S. territory into the Pacific Ocean, highlighting the results of economic integration and the rise of the United States as a Pacific power. Just as Texas joined the Union in 1845, President William McKinley signed a joint resolution to annex the islands. Hawaii became the last state to join the Union on August 21, 1959.

Downtown Honolulu, the state capital, is a cosmopolitan metropolis with a population of over 370,000; on the entire island of Molokai, 50 miles away, there are 7,400. Hawaiian cities are the most isolated cities on Earth: more than 2,300 miles from the United States, 3,850 miles from Japan, 4,900 miles from China, and 5,280 miles from the Philippines. Hawaii’s population shows more racial diversity than other states because they are descended from immigrants from Asia, Europe, and the continental United States. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, approximately 70.1% of the state’s population lives on Oahu.
