Event policies & waiver

These policies apply to every participant at AI Builders Day — builders (ages 8–14), their parents and guardians, volunteers, mentors, and guests. When a parent or guardian registers a builder, they agree to these terms on that builder’s behalf.

The event is free, one day, and hosted at Nursa’s headquarters — 5295 S Commerce Dr #600, Murray, UT 84107. Registration closes when spots fill or on the posted deadline, whichever comes first.

AI Builders Day is a welcoming space for kids of every background and skill level. We ask everyone in the building to:

• Be kind, patient, and encouraging — especially to first-time builders.
• Share tools, space, and mentor time fairly.
• Keep hands, words, and creations respectful. No bullying, harassment, or hateful, violent, or adult content — in person or in anything a builder makes.
• Listen to mentors and staff, and follow safety instructions for the space and any hardware.
• Ask for help the moment something feels wrong, unsafe, or uncomfortable.

Staff may ask anyone who repeatedly disregards this code, or who puts others at risk, to leave the event. For a builder, we’ll always contact their parent or guardian first.

AI Builders Day is a build-together day, not a drop-off. A parent or guardian is expected to stay for the full day and take part alongside their builder, and remains responsible for them throughout the event.

• Please arrive together — check-in and badges open at 8:30 AM.
• Everyone gathers for the demo showcase at 3:00 PM, and the day wraps at 4:00 PM.
• You’ll head home together at the end, so there’s no separate pickup process.

Tell us about allergies, medical needs, or accessibility needs at registration or check-in, or email us ahead of time — we want every builder set up to take part fully. Lunch and snacks are provided; flag food allergies in advance so we can plan.

In a medical emergency, staff will try to reach the parent or guardian immediately and, if needed, call for emergency care. By registering, you authorize event staff to seek emergency medical treatment for your builder if you cannot be reached in time.

Building involves laptops, hardware kits, and hands-on activity. By registering a builder, the parent or guardian confirms they understand there are ordinary risks in participating and agrees that AI Builders Day, its hosts, sponsors, venue, and volunteers are not liable for injury, loss, or damage except where caused by their own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

You confirm the builder is in suitable health to take part, and that the information you provide at registration is accurate.

Builders own what they create. We may photograph or display projects during the showcase and afterward to celebrate the event; if you’d prefer a builder’s project not be shown publicly, let a staff member know and we’ll honor that.

We take photos and video during the day to share the story of the event — on the AI Builders Day website, in recap materials, and with our sponsors. When you register, you choose whether your builder can appear in that media: the option is on by default, and you can uncheck it during sign-up to opt out.

Changed your mind, or didn’t sign up online? Tell us at check-in or email [email protected] — we’ll note it and keep your builder out of published media.

We only collect what we need to run the event: the registering adult’s name, email, and optional phone; each builder’s first name and age; an optional project idea; and volunteer details for those who sign up to help.

• We use it to confirm registration, plan the day, and contact you about the event.
• We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share builder information with sponsors.
• Builder details are stored so they can’t be read back through the public site — only event organizers can access them.
• If you start registering but don’t finish, we may keep the name and email you entered so we can reach out to help you complete it — deletable anytime (below).
