Hillsboro Health Reduces Time Spent to Cover Last-Minute Call Outs

Facility Background

Hillsboro Health and Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation care center located in Hillsboro, Oregon. With roughly 64 full-time clinicians, they successfully use Nursa to cover weekend shifts, holidays, and last-minute call outs.

The Challenge

Hillsboro Health and Rehabilitation Center clinicians experienced employee burnout due to nursing shortages, which were heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic. "Alongside the burnout, people were afraid. Younger staff were nervous to work with COVID patients while older staff decided it was a good time to retire," began Grenika Soysa, Nursing Home Administrator at Hillsboro.

"One of the things that sets Nursa apart is the local operations team. From the beginning, Luke has been at our beck and call," Grenika mused. "Having a person attached to our account has saved so much time. If I had an issue while working with other companies, I had to call a generic number to talk to a random person and explain the same problem several times. Luke is always there to help us out." She went on to remark, "In fact, right before I went on maternity leave, I remember turning to my boss, stressed about staffing, and her response was simply, 'Talk to Luke.'"
