Getting started

How to sign up

There are two ways to create your Nursa Study account. Your school will let you know which option applies to you.

Option 1: Sign Up via School Invitation (Recommended)

  1. Open the email invitation sent by your School Super Admin.
  2. Select the link in the email to create your account.
  3. Your school connection will be automatically verified.
  4. Begin creating your Student profile.

Option 2: Self-Registration

  1. Register independently using the sign-up page.
  2. Submit a connection request to your school during registration.
  3. Wait for manual approval from your School Super Admin.

Full access is granted once your school connection is approved.

How to connect to your school

If you registered using Self-Registration:

  1. Complete your account registration.
  2. Notify your School Administrator that your profile has been created.
  3. Request that they approve your school connection.

Notes:

  • School connections can only be requested during new user registration.
  • Once approved, the school connection cannot be edited.

How to complete your profile

You must complete your profile before the semester start date.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Profile > Compliance.
  2. Enter your contact details and program information.
  3. Upload all required credentials, such as immunizations, certifications, and background checks.

Your profile must be complete and approved before you can participate in clinical shifts.

How to set your preferences

Preferences help School Administrators assign appropriate clinical experiences.

Steps:

  1. Open the main menu and select Preferences.
  2. Complete each section:
  • Capstone Placement – Prior clinical attendance and evaluations are considered when assigning capstone experiences.
  • Rotation Specialties – Subject to course requirements; preferences are considered when possible.
  • Schedule Availability – Select preferred shift times (e.g., Day: 0600–1800, Noc: 1800–0600).
  • Elective Course Interests – Indicate interest in elective courses and specializations.

Your preferences are shared with your School Administrators and used for clinical planning.

Using your dashboard

How to use the dashboard

Your dashboard provides an overview of your clinical progress.

From the dashboard, you can:

  • View upcoming shifts
  • Monitor completed and remaining clinical hours
  • Check compliance and credential status

How to view and manage shifts

Steps:

  1. Log in and navigate to your dashboard.
  2. View all assigned and available shifts.
  3. Use filters to narrow results by date range, facility, or status.
  4. Select a shift to view full details and instructor contact information.
  5. Use the built-in messaging system for shift-related questions.

Understanding shift statuses

  • Open – Shift is published and available
  • Scheduled – You are assigned to the shift
  • In Progress – Shift has started and you should be on site
  • Completed – Shift has ended and is awaiting evaluation
  • Verified – All reports and evaluations are approved

How clinical hours are tracked

  • Hours are tracked automatically based on shift start and end times
  • Hours are categorized by clinical specialty and facility type
  • You can view total hours, specialty breakdowns, and remaining requirements
  • Progress updates automatically as shifts are completed

How to access reports and capstone tracking

Steps:

  1. Open your dashboard.
  2. Select Reports or Capstone Tracking.
  3. View semester reports and capstone clinical hour progress.
  4. Export reports for personal records or external requirements.
  5. Review instructor performance evaluations.

Compliance and requirements

Compliance overview

  • All documents must be uploaded and approved before participating in shifts
  • You will receive reminders 30 days before documents expire
  • Expired compliance may result in removal from future shifts

How to upload credentials

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Profile > Compliance.
  2. Select Upload Document for each required item.
  3. Upload files in PDF, JPG, or PNG format (maximum size: 10MB).
  4. Wait for document review, which typically takes up to 48 hours.

Typical compliance requirements

  • Health screenings (TB test, immunizations)
  • Background check clearance
  • CPR or BLS certification
  • HIPAA training certificate
  • Facility-specific orientation completion

How to monitor and renew compliance

  • Red badges indicate documents that are expired or expiring

  • Upload updated documents as soon as renewals are completed
