A Fingerprint Clearance Card is an identification card issued by the state of Arizona that certifies that an individual has undergone a criminal background check. The card contains an individual’s photo, name, and criminal history, and may contain other information, such as residency and employment status. Fingerprint Clearance Cards are used in a variety of medical fields to ensure that potential employees are trustworthy and not convicted of any felonies.
The card allows an organization to confidently hire and know that it will not be legally liable for any crimes committed by the associated person. In order to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card, an individual must submit an application to the Arizona Department of Public Safety and have their fingerprints taken and sent to the Department for a thorough background check. Once the Department has processed and approved all information collected, a Fingerprint Clearance Card can be issued to the individual.
