Nursa clinicians can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted-living facilities (ALFs), nursing and residential care facilities, physicians’ offices, home healthcare services, and more.

Responsibilities might include:

A clinician’s duties can vary significantly based on their license type, work setting, and additional certifications or specialization, among other factors. Allowing for these variations, the following are typical responsibilities of healthcare workers:

  • Provide patient care
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Document patient care and maintain health records
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Listen to patients, comfort them, and communicate any relevant information to supervisors 
  • Observe, record, and report changes in a patient’s condition to supervisors
  • Collaborate with the rest of the healthcare team
  • Maintain safety standards and infection control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures

CNA Responsibilities 

  • · Providing great resident care by answering patient call lights and determining how best to help them. 
  • · Q2 rounds providing the resident with all needs. 
  • · Providing physical support for resident with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, 
  • · Turning and repositioning bedridden resident every q2. 
  • · Recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff. 
  • · Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate at the beginning of shift, and as requested by staff. 
  • · Examining residents to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine. 
  • · PLEASE CLOCK OUT FOR 30-minute break
  • · ALL CHARTING MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE END OF YOUR SHIFT

About Required Healthcare License:
Requirements to work as a nursing assistant can vary significantly from state to state.
