Welcome, upon your arrival check in at the nurse's station where you will be greeted by DON or Scheduler. At the as you start your shift, please make sure to familiarize yourself with the layout of the unit and the locations of essential supplies. Introduce yourself to the team and don't hesitate to ask questions if you're unsure about anything. Patient safety is our top priority, so always double-check your work and communicate clearly with your colleagues.
Our dress code is important for maintaining a professional and hygienic environment. Please wear clean, pressed scrubs and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Avoid wearing excessive jewelry or strong perfumes. Hair should be neatly tied back, and nails should be short and clean. Always wear your ID badge visibly.
Accurate charting is crucial for patient care. Make sure to document all patient interactions, including vital signs, medication administration, and any changes in condition. Use clear, concise language and avoid abbreviations that are not universally understood. Ensure that all entries are time-stamped and signed. If you make a mistake, follow the protocol for correcting it, which usually involves drawing a single line through the error and initialing it.
