The LPN/RN must be able to perform the following tasks.

1. Assess and communicate changes in resident’s status to MD and Family

2. Manage residents with continuous tube feed through PEG/G/GJ/NG tubes. Administer medication through PEG/G/GJ/NG tubes

3. Complete wound care as ordered

4. Line management including: Midlines, PICCs and peripheral lines/ Must be able to give IV medications

5. Manage residents with urethral and suprapubic catheters

6. Medication administration (including blood product administration, critical medication infusions, etc.)

7. Document accurately and completely prior to shift end

8. Critical thinking and problem solving skills

9. Understanding of ventilators, ventilated patients, suctioning (with assistance from the RT)

CNA must be able to perform the following tasks

1. Must be able to care for residents with Tracheostomies, PEGs and wounds

2. Must be able to obtain vital signs

3. Must have experience with obtaining blood glucose readings

1. Assess and communicate changes in resident’s status to MD and Family
