Healthcare workers, such as nurses, nursing assistants, and medication aides, provide care to patients under the supervision and guidance of nursing managers or physicians. Responsibilities might include:

A clinician’s duties can vary significantly based on their license type, work setting, and additional certifications or specialization, among other factors. Allowing for these variations, the following are typical responsibilities of healthcare workers:

  • Provide patient care
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Document patient care and maintain health records
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Listen to patients, comfort them, and communicate any relevant information to supervisors 
  • Observe, record, and report changes in a patient’s condition to supervisors
  • Collaborate with the rest of the healthcare team
  • Maintain safety standards and infection control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures

ANY CLINICIAN REQUESTING SHIFTS AT PALOMAR HEIGHTS POST ACUTE IS ACKNOWLEDGING AND AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING:

I, CLINICIAN NAME, am recognizing and agreeing to complete ALL duties of a CNA. This includes responsibilities related to patient care INCLUDING documenting care, or otherwise known as “charting”, in PCC. 

As a 1099 clinician it is still MY responsibility to complete charting that is done for patients while under my supervision. Facilities are required to provide MY documentation when audited by state and federal compliance organizaitons. IT IS MY DUTY TO CHART and I will not end my shift or leave the facility until ALL CHARTING IS COMPLETE.  My 530 form can not be signed until my charting is complete and I can not leave facility until my charting charting is complete and 530 form is signed.

Failure to comply with proper documentation or “charting” can result in the following:

  1. Delayed Payment
  2. Requirement to come back to facility to complete charting
  3. Nursa Suspension (inability to complete future shifts at any facility in the Nursa Application)
  4. Blocked from Facility 

IMPORTANT POLICIES – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

(Failure to follow these guidelines may result in delayed payment, withheld pay, or pay being revoked.)

ARRIVAL (Before You Start Your Shift):

  • COVID Testing: You are required to test for COVID before the start of your shift.
  • COVID tests are available at Station A. Please ask the front desk or charge nurse for one.
  • Once tested, show your results to the charge nurse and also inform Staffing (Jose via Nursa's built-in messaging system).
  • Early Arrival & Orientation:
  • Arrive 15 minutes early for first time clinicians.
  • Check in at the front desk, request the Registry Binder, read the Orientation Guide, and complete all required orientation forms by the end of your shift.

END-OF-SHIFT REQUIREMENT:

  • You must complete and sign a physical 530 Form (available at Nurses Station A).
  • The form must also be signed by the nurse and placed in the Registry Binder before leaving.

SHIFT CANCELLATIONS:

  • Notify us at least 2 hours in advance if you need to cancel or call off a shift.
  • Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a Do Not Return (DNR) status.

CONDUCT AT NURSES STATION:

  • Please do not sit or gather at the nurses station unless required for work-related tasks.

PHONE USAGE POLICY:

  • You may keep your phone on you, but phone use during work hours is not permitted.
  • In case of emergency, notify the nurse and take the call or message in a private area.

CLOCK-IN/CLOCK-OUT & OVERTIME:

  • Make sure to clock in and out on time using the app when being in the facility physically( clocking in and out without being in the facility is not tolerate)
  • False clocking will be reported as fraud.
  • No overtime will be paid, so please complete all charting and duties within your scheduled hours.
