Healthcare workers, such as nurses, nursing assistants, and medication aides, provide care to patients under the supervision and guidance of nursing managers or physicians. Nursa clinicians can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted-living facilities (ALFs), nursing and residential care facilities, physicians’ offices, home healthcare services, and more.

Responsibilities might include:

A clinician’s duties can vary significantly based on their license type, work setting, and additional certifications or specialization, among other factors. Allowing for these variations, the following are typical responsibilities of healthcare workers:

  • Provide patient care
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Document patient care and maintain health records
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Listen to patients, comfort them, and communicate any relevant information to supervisors 
  • Observe, record, and report changes in a patient’s condition to supervisors
  • Collaborate with the rest of the healthcare team
  • Maintain safety standards and infection control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures

Please come in 15 minutes early. This is the Brittany Place location on Searstone Campus

Check in with the supervisor to get your clock punch in number, PCC log-in, and orientation packet for first time staff. Please take a picture of all log-in information and time card for future shifts.  Please call (919) 234-0400 if you are running late. All staff must take a mandatory 30 minute break during shifts as per North Carolina law. Please be sure to complete POC documentation before you leave. Closed toe shoes required - NO CROCS.

About Required Healthcare License:
Requirements to work as a nursing assistant can vary significantly from state to state. To become a certified nursing assistant (CNA), an individual generally has to obtain a high school diploma or equivalent and/or complete a state-approved CNA program. Other typical requirements include completing an application, paying required fees, and passing a nursing assistant competency examination. Each state also has particular requirements for maintaining a certification active and/or renewing certification.
