Healthcare workers, such as nurses, nursing assistants, and medication aides, provide care to patients under the supervision and guidance of nursing managers or physicians. Nursa clinicians can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted-living facilities (ALFs), nursing and residential care facilities, physicians’ offices, home healthcare services, and more.

Responsibilities might include:

A clinician’s duties can vary significantly based on their license type, work setting, and additional certifications or specialization, among other factors. Allowing for these variations, the following are typical responsibilities of healthcare workers:

  • Provide patient care
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Document patient care and maintain health records
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Listen to patients, comfort them, and communicate any relevant information to supervisors 
  • Observe, record, and report changes in a patient’s condition to supervisors
  • Collaborate with the rest of the healthcare team
  • Maintain safety standards and infection control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures

To Avoid delays in your payment and potential DNR:

  • Complete your charting in PCC before the end of your shift, in order to get paid.
    • There a common PCC login for Registry
  • CNA's - If you provide a shower to your patient
    • You Must complete the Shower Sheet paper form.
  • Complete the 530 form before you leave
    • The 530 form binder is located the Nurse's station

  • Please take 30-minute break before the 5th hour.
  • Check in with charge nurse.
  • MUST complete all POC charting and 530 form before end of shift.
  • No using your cell phone during your shift, especially while in resident rooms.
  • Only 10-minute break within every 4th hour is allowed, charge nurse must be notified before every break.
  • ALL BREAKS INSIDE THE FACILITY MUST BE TAKEN IN BREAKROOM ONLY
  • Everyone is expected to be on time for every shift.
  • CNA room assignment/showers/meal assist/room water pitcher's will be assigned by license nurses.

About Required Healthcare License:
Requirements to work as a nursing assistant can vary significantly from state to state. To become a certified nursing assistant (CNA), an individual generally has to obtain a high school diploma or equivalent and/or complete a state-approved CNA program. Other typical requirements include completing an application, paying required fees, and passing a nursing assistant competency examination.
