Find Out About PRN LPN Jobs in West Burlington

West Burlington, Iowa, is a charming small town with a thriving healthcare scene. It is known for its friendly community and peaceful atmosphere, so it's no wonder many healthcare professionals are drawn to living and working in this area.

Perhaps you're a licensed practical nurse (LPN) looking for new job opportunities in West Burlington. Or you're already working as a PRN nurse, but you're on the hunt for more shifts to fill your schedule. Whatever the case may be, Nursa is here to connect you with PRN LPN jobs in West Burlington that will fit your needs.

What Is Nursa and What Does Working PRN Mean?

Nursa connects healthcare facilities with qualified LPNs, registered nurses (RNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) for per diem, or PRN, shifts. PRN stands for "pro re nata," which is Latin for "as needed." In other words, with PRN jobs, you can choose when and where you want to work, choosing among the available shifts. This is perfect for LPNs who value autonomy and control over their schedule.

How Does PRN Nursing Enhance Patient Safety?

However, PRN nursing isn't just beneficial for the LPN but is also crucial in enhancing patient safety. When healthcare facilities are short-staffed, patient safety can be compromised. By working PRN, LPNs can fill in the gaps in staffing and ensure that patients receive the care they need. This not only helps healthcare facilities maintain quality care but also creates a safer environment for patients.

What Are the Demands for LPNs in Iowa?

The state of Iowa is experiencing a growing demand for healthcare services, which means an increased demand for qualified nurses. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of LPNs is projected to grow 9% from 2019 to 2029, faster than the average for all occupations. This means there are plenty of job opportunities for LPNs in Iowa, especially in areas like West Burlington, where the population is older and needs quality healthcare services.

Why LPNs Love Working PRN Jobs

Working PRN as an LPN has numerous benefits. Here are just a few reasons why LPNs love working PRN jobs:

  • Flexibility: As mentioned earlier, PRN shifts offer a flexible schedule, allowing LPNs to work around their obligations and preferences.
  • Variety: LPNs who work PRN experience a wide range of healthcare settings and work with different patient populations. This allows for professional growth and the development of new skills.
  • Higher pay: Working PRN often means higher hourly wages.
  • No long-term commitments: PRN shifts are short-term, so LPNs don't have to commit to a long-term work arrangement. This is perfect for those who value variety and don't want to be tied down time-wise.
  • Professional networking: Working PRN allows LPNs to build a broad professional network across multiple healthcare facilities. This can open doors to future job opportunities, provide valuable references, and help them stay updated on the latest industry practices and trends.

PRN work is becoming increasingly popular among LPNs, and for good reason.
