Timing is the main difference. Orientation happens once, ahead of a first shift, and introduces how a building operates. Inservice training recurs, refreshing specific topics for as long as a clinician keeps working there. An operator may keep both, tracked separately, so one appearing on a credential list does not account for the other.

Because these records refresh rather than introduce, the material tends to concentrate on topics an operator wants reinforced periodically.
- Unit-level practices the operator expects staff to follow on the floor.
- Standards that apply to clinicians working on a registry basis.
- Resident care expectations specific to the operator.
Since the material is written around one operator's buildings, it belongs to that operator rather than to an outside certifying body, and it does not transfer to another.
Which clinicians a facility may ask
A location may ask for this record from clinical staff scheduled on-site, which can include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants. Naming on a posting varies, and inservice, in-service training, and annual training can each appear meaning different things, so reading the credential name as written is the reliable approach.
How to add this credential to your Nursa profile
Recurring training records are added the same way as any other credential.
- Navigate to your Profile in the Nursa app.
- Locate Credentials on your profile view.
- Select the "+" button.
- Select "Add Credential."
- Select the credential you want to add.
- Follow the instructions to add your credential.
