Cooney Healthcare & Rehabilitation | Orientation

Cooney Healthcare & Rehabilitation requires orientation before a clinician works a shift there. It is training rather than paperwork, and completion becomes a credential on your Nursa profile.

Why does an experienced clinician still complete it?

Because orientation is about the building rather than about your clinical ability. A nurse with 15 years on post-acute units still does not know where Cooney keeps its emergency equipment, which codes it calls overhead, or how it expects a change in condition escalated at 3 in the morning. Facilities also carry obligations to train anyone working their units, and those apply regardless of how long you have been practicing.

What does the orientation cover?

Building-level operations and the policy ground beneath them.

  • How the units are laid out and where supplies and emergency equipment are kept
  • Emergency codes, fire response, and evacuation routes
  • Infection control practice and personal protective equipment
  • Resident rights and abuse prevention, which may also appear as its own credential
  • Documentation standards and how shift handoff runs

What if you complete it and never pick up a shift?

Nothing is lost. The credential stays on your profile whether or not you work at Cooney, and no obligation attaches to finishing it. Clearing orientation at a few nearby buildings during a quiet week is a reasonable way to widen what you can accept later, since the slow part of picking up a shift is credentialing rather than deciding.

Complete your orientation

This training belongs to Cooney rather than an outside certifying body, so it reflects how that building runs and does not transfer elsewhere.

Find the Cooney orientation in ShiftReady and work through every module, then record it:

  1. Tap Menu in the top left of the Nursa app.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Scroll to the Credentials section.
  4. Tap Add your Credential.
  5. Upload your document as a PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG.

Sign up as a clinician and add Cooney to the list of buildings you are cleared for.

Testimonial about Nursa from the real users

Nursa is always there for me!”

“I love the easy user-friendly app with clear pictures and information about a facility. I work with other agencies and the Nursa app is most visually appealing! The best thing about Nursa though is the professional attitude of the staff whenever you call or need help. Again, surpasses other agencies”
