Where a facility asks about COVID-19 vaccination, some accept approved exemption documentation in place of a vaccine card. This credential is where that paperwork sits on a clinician's profile.
Documentation rather than training
Like a vaccine card, this is a record of something already determined rather than a course to complete. Adding it means uploading the documentation itself. There is no material attached to it and nothing to work through.
Facilities set their own policies
Whether a location accepts an exemption, what documentation it recognizes, and how it treats an exemption once approved are decisions made by that facility and shaped by state law. Policies differ between operators and have changed over time. A facility that accepts one form of documentation may not accept another, and a neighboring building may handle it differently.
That means the credential list on a shift posting, and the facility itself, are the only reliable sources on what applies to a particular shift. Anything else is a guess about someone else's policy.
Where to get answers about your situation
Questions about whether you qualify for an exemption, how to request one, or what an employer is obliged to consider fall outside what a credential page can usefully answer. Those depend on your state, your circumstances, and the operator involved. The facility is the place to start, and an employment attorney is worth consulting where the stakes warrant it.
How to add this credential to your Nursa profile
Documentation credentials are added the same way as any other.
- Navigate to your Profile in the Nursa app.
- Locate Credentials on your profile view.
- Select the "+" button.
- Select "Add Credential."
- Select the credential you want to add.
- Follow the instructions to add your credential.
Depending on the credential type, this may require uploading proof of the certification, reviewing and signing a document, or completing a facility-required training in ShiftReady. ShiftReady is an online learning management platform that offers clinicians access to a library of third-party training resources.
