Education verification confirms that you completed the nursing or nursing assistant program you list. It is part of credentialing rather than something you earn, and it sits with your other nursing credentials.
What counts as verification?
Documentation that traces back to the school. An official transcript sent by the institution is the strongest version and a diploma copy is common. Some credentialing processes contact the school directly, which is called primary source verification. A photo of a diploma is rarely enough on its own, since the point is confirming the record with whoever holds it.
How is this different from license verification?
Different source, different question. License verification confirms with a state board that your license or certification is active and in good standing. Education verification confirms with a school that you completed the program behind it. Credentialing treats the two as separate items, and a facility can ask for both.
What if your school closed or your name changed?
Both are common, and both have a route. When a program closes, student records usually transfer to a state agency, a successor institution, or the state board, and whoever holds them can produce a transcript. When your name has changed since graduating, expect to supply something linking the two, such as a marriage certificate. Start either process early, since it runs on someone else's timeline.
What if you were educated outside the United States?
Expect an extra step. Credential evaluation services review nursing education completed abroad against United States standards and issue a report credentialing can rely on. That report is often what a facility means by verification, and if you already completed an evaluation for licensure it is usually the document to upload.
Adding it to your profile
Upload the transcript, diploma, or evaluation report rather than a screenshot of a school portal.
- Tap Menu in the top left of the Nursa app.
- Select Profile.
- Scroll to the Credentials section.
- Tap Add your Credential.
- Upload your document as a PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG.
Sign up as a clinician and request your transcript early so it is waiting when a facility asks.
