Family of Caring Healthcare | Orientation

Family of Caring Healthcare requires orientation before a clinician works a shift at one of its buildings. It is training rather than paperwork, and completion becomes a credential on your Nursa profile.

What does the orientation cover?

The ground a clinician needs before an unfamiliar shift.

  • Building layout, supply locations, and where emergency equipment is kept
  • Emergency codes, fire response, and evacuation routes
  • Infection control practice and personal protective equipment
  • Resident rights, abuse prevention, and reporting duties
  • Documentation standards and shift handoff expectations

Does orientation get you a charting system login?

Not usually, and this is the gap that catches people out. Orientation teaches you the documentation standards. Access to the system itself is provisioned separately, often by someone who is not working when you arrive for a night shift. If it is your first shift at a building, ask ahead of time how login access is handled and who sets it up. A clinician who cannot chart spends the shift writing on paper and catching up afterward.

What if the building has no record of your completion?

Keep your own copy. Completion records pass between systems, and occasionally the person checking you in cannot see what your profile shows. A screenshot or the certificate saved on your phone turns a 20-minute problem into a 20-second one, and it is worth doing for every facility credential rather than only this one.

Complete your orientation

This training belongs to Family of Caring Healthcare rather than an outside certifying body, so it reflects how their buildings run and does not transfer to another operator.

Find the orientation in ShiftReady and work through every module, then record it:

  1. Tap Menu in the top left of the Nursa app.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Scroll to the Credentials section.
  4. Tap Add your Credential.
  5. Upload your document as a PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG.

Sign up as a clinician and clear orientation ahead of the shifts you want rather than alongside them.

A better control of my time!”

Testimonial about Nursa from the real users

Nursa is always there for me!”

“I love the easy user-friendly app with clear pictures and information about a facility. I work with other agencies and the Nursa app is most visually appealing! The best thing about Nursa though is the professional attitude of the staff whenever you call or need help. Again, surpasses other agencies”
