Hill Valley Healthcare | Orientation

Hill Valley Healthcare requires orientation before a clinician works a shift at one of its buildings. It is training rather than paperwork, and completion becomes a credential on your Nursa profile.

What does the orientation cover?

The building and the rules behind it.

  • Layout, supply locations, and where emergency equipment is kept
  • Emergency codes, fire response, and evacuation routes
  • Infection control practice and personal protective equipment
  • Resident rights, abuse prevention, and reporting duties
  • Documentation standards and how handoff runs at shift change

Does orientation prepare you for a night shift?

Partly. Orientation describes how a building runs, and most of that description is drawn from daytime, when the building is at its fullest. Nights work differently. Fewer staff are on, therapy and most departments have gone home, the covering provider is reached by phone rather than found on a unit, and a supervisor may be responsible for more than one building. If you are picking up nights, ask specifically who is on overnight and how a provider gets reached, because orientation tends to leave that thin.

What happens if the building changes hands?

Your orientation may not carry over. Post-acute buildings change operators fairly often, and a new operator generally arrives with its own policies, its own training, and its own credential record. The building stays the same while the requirement resets. If a facility you have worked before suddenly shows an orientation you thought you had cleared, an ownership change is the usual explanation rather than a system error.

Complete your orientation

This training belongs to Hill Valley rather than an outside certifying body, so it reflects how their buildings run and does not transfer to another operator.

Find the Hill Valley orientation in ShiftReady and work through every module, then record it:

  1. Tap Menu in the top left of the Nursa app.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Scroll to the Credentials section.
  4. Tap Add your Credential.
  5. Upload your document as a PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG.

Sign up as a clinician and clear orientation before the shifts you want start appearing.

Testimonial about Nursa from the real users

Nursa is always there for me!”

“I love the easy user-friendly app with clear pictures and information about a facility. I work with other agencies and the Nursa app is most visually appealing! The best thing about Nursa though is the professional attitude of the staff whenever you call or need help. Again, surpasses other agencies”
