Intermountain | Preboarding Documents

Intermountain Health requires PRN and contract clinicians to complete a standardized set of preboarding documents before beginning shifts at any of their healthcare facilities. These forms establish baseline compliance, safety standards, and operational expectations across all Intermountain clinical environments.

What Do the Preboarding Documents Cover?

Preboarding packages consolidate essential facility policies, safety protocols, and administrative verifications into a single onboarding packet.

Facility Rules and Safety Protocols

  • Emergency Response: Guidelines for facility emergency codes, evacuation routes, and safety procedures.
  • Infection Control: Protocols regarding hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), and sanitization standards.
  • Environmental Safety: Workplace hazard policies and safe equipment operation guidelines.

Privacy and Operational Standards

  • HIPAA & Confidentiality: Mandatory compliance agreements protecting patient health information (PHI) and data privacy.
  • Code of Conduct: Expected professional behavior, ethics, and patient interaction guidelines.
  • Badging & Access: Authorizations required for facility physical access and security clearance.

Why Are Preboarding Documents Required?

Intermountain Health maintains high standards for patient safety and facility integration. Completing these documents before taking a shift ensures that every clinician is fully aligned with facility-specific procedures, legal regulations, and patient care standards before stepping onto the floor.

What Does Preboarding Look Like on a Shift?

Completing your preboarding documentation eliminates first-day onboarding friction. When you arrive for your shift, you can obtain your facility badge, log into local systems, and begin patient care without spending valuable shift time completing administrative paperwork at the unit desk.

Complete Your Credential

If the credential is a facility-specific training or orientation, find the relevant course in ShiftReady or access the required forms through your facility onboarding portal.

Adding It to Your Profile

  1. Sign up or Log in to the Nursa app.
  2. Tap Menu in the top left corner of the app.
  3. Select Profile.
  4. Scroll to the Credentials section.
  5. Tap Add your Credential and select Intermountain | Preboarding Documents.
  6. Upload proof of your credential (PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG).
  7. Add any further required details (issue date, expiration date).
  8. Optional: Add a note with any necessary clarifying information.

Sign up as a clinician on Nursa and check whether the Intermountain shifts on your list require these documents before requesting them. For additional tips on facility onboarding and credentialing, explore the Nursa Blog.

Testimonial about Nursa from the real users

Nursa is always there for me!”

“I love the easy user-friendly app with clear pictures and information about a facility. I work with other agencies and the Nursa app is most visually appealing! The best thing about Nursa though is the professional attitude of the staff whenever you call or need help. Again, surpasses other agencies”
