Kalesta Healthcare Group operates post-acute care, skilled nursing, and senior living facilities across multiple states. To maintain high-quality care standards and operational consistency across its network, Kalesta requires PRN and contract clinicians to complete a mandatory facility orientation prior to working on-site. This orientation ensures seamless integration into unit routines, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and facility safety procedures.
What Does the Orientation Cover?
The orientation package covers essential operational, clinical, and administrative guidelines designed for post-acute and long-term care environments.
Facility Workflows & EMR Documentation
- EMR & Charting Standards: System navigation, timely documentation protocols, shift notes, and order execution procedures.
- Unit Operations: Shift handoff protocols, interdisciplinary team communication, and medication administration workflows.
Infection Control & Resident Safety
- Infection Prevention: Universal precautions, isolation protocols, hand hygiene, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Emergency Response: Facility-specific emergency codes, fall prevention strategies, and incident reporting procedures.
Patient Rights & Regulatory Compliance
- Resident Rights: Maintaining resident dignity, privacy, confidentiality under HIPAA, and resident choice in care plans.
- Regulatory Alignment: Adherence to state licensing standards, OSHA guidelines, and mandatory reporting protocols.
Why Is Kalesta Healthcare Group Orientation Required?
Completing the orientation ensures that contingent clinicians understand facility-specific expectations before taking patient assignments. Kalesta Healthcare Group mandates this onboarding process to protect resident safety, streamline shift transitions, maintain infection control standards, and comply with healthcare facility regulations.
What Does It Look Like on a Shift?
Completing your orientation beforehand allows you to step onto the unit ready to practice. You can log into EMR systems without delay, navigate unit resources easily, and deliver safe, effective care alongside facility staff from the start of your shift.
