Sandstone Healthcare Group may require clinicians to complete an orientation before approving them to pick up shifts at its locations. Because the orientation comes from the operator, it reflects Sandstone’s own policies and procedures rather than a national standard.
What does an operator orientation cover?
Orientation condenses what a permanent hire would pick up over their first weeks into material a clinician can complete beforehand. Content varies by operator, but it often includes:
- Facility policies and daily routines
- Safety and infection control procedures
- Documentation expectations
- Resident or patient rights
Sandstone Healthcare Group sets the actual content, so the orientation itself is the place to confirm what’s included.
Does it apply across all Sandstone locations?
A group-level orientation is often designed to cover an operator’s locations as a whole, which can save clinicians from repeating the same material at each building. Some locations may still ask for additional site-specific steps. The credential list on each posting shows what that location is looking for.
How does it fit with other credentials?
Orientation is usually one item among several. Licenses, certifications, and health records often sit alongside it, and each is tracked as its own entry. Browsing other nursing credentials gives a sense of what else may appear on a list.
How to add this credential to your Nursa profile
Orientation records are added the same way as any other credential.
- Navigate to your Profile in the Nursa app.
- Locate Credentials on your profile view.
- Select the “+” button.
- Select “Add Credential.”
- Select the credential you want to add.
- Follow the instructions to add your credential.
Depending on the credential type, this may require uploading proof of the certification, reviewing and signing a document, or completing a facility-required training in ShiftReady. ShiftReady is an online learning management platform that offers clinicians access to a library of third-party training resources.
