Enjoy High Pay in Brighton as a PRN CNA in the ICU

Brighton, Colorado, a quaint city located just 20 miles northeast of Denver, is a charming community that has seen immense growth over the years. With its beautiful landscapes, affordable housing, and a strong economy, it is no wonder that many people are drawn to this city. The socioeconomic status of Brighton is fairly stable. With a growing population and a thriving job market, it is a great place to live and work. As a certified nursing assistant (CNA), there are various specialties one can choose to work in, and one of the most demanding and fulfilling specialties in Brighton is the PRN (per diem) ICU CNA job.

Specialties for CNAs

As a CNA, one can choose to work in different specialties and branches. Each of these specialties has its own unique demands and rewards. However, CPR and basic life support (BLS) certifications are required for all CNAs, regardless of the specialty they choose to work in. For CNAs who have a passion for critical care and thrive in fast-paced environments, the ICU is a popular choice. This specialty requires additional education and certifications, such as advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

ICU, or intensive care unit, is a department in a hospital where patients with life-threatening conditions are admitted and closely monitored. These patients require specialized care and monitoring to ensure their vital signs are stable and their conditions are improving. In an ICU, the patients are typically on ventilators, have complex medical conditions, and require constant attention from healthcare providers. As a CNA in the ICU, you will play a crucial role in assisting the registered nurses (RNs) and other healthcare providers in caring for these patients.

The demand for CNAs in the ICU in Brighton is constantly increasing. The job of nursing assistants is projected to grow 8 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for other occupations. The aging population and the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases are contributing factors to this growth.

CNA ICU Jobs in Brighton

PRN CNAs in the ICU have the flexibility to choose when and where they want to work. They can pick up per diem shifts on an as-needed basis, allowing them to have a better work-life balance and control over their schedules. These PRN jobs also allow CNAs to gain experience in different facilities and work alongside different healthcare teams, expanding their knowledge and skillset. Many PRN CNAs in the ICU are also able to earn a higher hourly rate than those working full-time.

The life of a PRN ICU CNA in Brighton is never dull. They are constantly in demand, with hospitals and other healthcare facilities relying on them to fill in the gaps in their nursing team. PRN CNAs are also exposed to a wide range of medical cases in the ICU, allowing them to expand their knowledge. This can be especially beneficial for those who are looking to further their education and move up the career ladder. However, the job can also be physically and emotionally demanding, as patients in the ICU are often critically ill and require constant attention and care.

A typical day for an ICU CNA in Brighton begins with reporting to the charge nurse and receiving a detailed overview of the patients assigned to them. They will then start their shift by checking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support. They will also work closely with the RNs, assisting with various tasks such as administering medications, dressing wounds, and monitoring patients' conditions. Depending on the facility and the number of patients they are assigned, their day may also include tasks such as stocking supplies, charting, and attending to patient needs.
