A good LPN stands out by demonstrating excellent patient care that exceeds the standard and providing patient education in a professional and friendly manner. This varies due to factors such as experience, training, location, and the type of facility. LPNs are typically paid on an hourly basis and can work full-time, part-time, or on a PRN (as needed) basis.

Working per diem offers an LPN an opportunity to earn more than if they were worked full-time or part-time, plus it provides a degree of flexibility with no commitment. An LPN will usually be paid an hourly rate rather than a salary, which can be higher than a regular Staff worker's pay. The downside of per diem work is that you are not considered an employee, so you won't receive any benefits such as health insurance, and you must handle your own taxes. The rate of pay, hours, and work location can also vary from job to job.
