Felician University’s School of Nursing, based in Rutherford, New Jersey, is part of a private Franciscan university with campuses in Rutherford and Lodi. The school offers a traditional four-year BSN, an accelerated second-degree BSN, and additional pathways for licensed nurses and graduate study. Depending on the track, students may learn in campus-based, online, or hybrid formats while building skills in patient-centered care, clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, leadership, ethics, informatics, and community health.
Prelicensure students complete nursing coursework, skills and simulation lab training, and supervised clinical placements with regional healthcare partners. The traditional BSN is typically 120 credits, while the accelerated option gives students who already hold a bachelor’s degree a faster route into nursing. Felician’s nursing programs are CCNE-accredited, and its prelicensure pathways are designed to prepare graduates for the NCLEX-RN. Compared with some nearby larger programs, Felician may be a strong fit for students who want a smaller university setting, a values-based learning environment, and access to northern New Jersey clinical experiences.

Programs
A BSN is a 4-year university RN degree, widely preferred by employers and required for many advanced roles, whose graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN.
An MSN is a 2–3 year graduate degree that prepares RNs for advanced practice, leadership, and specialized roles such as nurse practitioner or nurse educator.
A DNP is the highest clinical nursing degree, taking 2–4 years, preparing nurses for advanced practice, executive leadership, and policy roles—distinct from the research-focused PhD.
A post-graduate APRN certificate is a 12–24 month credential that lets MSN-prepared nurses add or change an advanced practice specialty without earning a second degree.
