About CentraState Medical Center

CentraState Medical Center anchors a campus in Freehold Township, New Jersey, in central Monmouth County, and operates as a nonprofit community hospital within Atlantic Health System. What distinguishes it from a standard community hospital is scope beyond acute care. The organization runs continuing care and senior living communities, assisted living, and outpatient health and wellness facilities on and around the campus, so the hospital sits inside a broader network of services aimed at an aging local population.

Clinical care covers emergency services, medical and surgical inpatient units, intensive care, cardiac care, cancer treatment through a dedicated outpatient center, orthopedics and joint replacement, neurosciences, bariatric surgery, and maternity with newborn care. Nurses work across critical care, medical-surgical, telemetry, perioperative, emergency, oncology, and labor and delivery, and the senior care operations add long-term and assisted living roles that most acute-care hospitals do not offer internally. A family medicine residency program gives the hospital a teaching component, and it serves as a clinical placement site for regional nursing programs. Compared with the large academic centers in New Brunswick and Newark, CentraState offers community-scale acuity with system backing.
