University of Missouri–St. Louis, in St. Louis, Missouri, is a public four-year university with a strong College of Nursing. Its nursing pathways include undergraduate and graduate study, with BSN, RN-to-BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD options available. Depending on the track, learning may be campus-based, online, or hybrid. Students build core skills in health assessment, pharmacology, evidence-based practice, communication, leadership, patient-centered care, and clinical judgment through classroom learning and supervised clinical experiences.
Prelicensure students complete clinical training and are prepared for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. UMSL offers the resources of a large public university along with access to St. Louis-area health systems, giving students practical clinical exposure and more advancement opportunities than many nearby programs. Its nursing programs are CCNE-accredited and well suited to students who want both entry-level preparation and room to grow into advanced nursing roles.

Programs
A BSN is a 4-year university RN degree, widely preferred by employers and required for many advanced roles, whose graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN.
A DNP is the highest clinical nursing degree, taking 2–4 years, preparing nurses for advanced practice, executive leadership, and policy roles—distinct from the research-focused PhD.
A post-graduate APRN certificate is a 12–24 month credential that lets MSN-prepared nurses add or change an advanced practice specialty without earning a second degree.
