Wenatchee Valley College

Wenatchee Valley College is a public community college with campuses in Wenatchee and Omak, specializing in a "career ladder" model for nursing education. The college offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), which serves as a pre-licensure track, as well as a hybrid LPN-to-BSN and an 80% online RN-to-BSN completion program. The traditional ADN program spans two years of professional study following a year of prerequisites, while the BSN tracks are designed to accommodate working professionals by requiring minimal on-campus attendance—often just three times per quarter.

The curriculum is built on a concept-based framework, totaling approximately 120 credits for the full baccalaureate degree. Students develop core competencies in patient-centered care, safety, and informatics. Clinical rotations are a major component, with the ADN program requiring roughly 500 to 600 hours of direct patient care and simulation. These experiences are facilitated through partnerships with regional providers, including Confluence Health and facilities across Okanogan County, specifically preparing students to address the unique healthcare challenges of rural communities.

Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam, with WVC consistently reporting first-time pass rates above 90% for its ADN cohorts. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Compared to other Washington programs, WVC is distinguished by its high employment rates—often reaching 100% within six months—and its commitment to serving as a local hub for academic progression in the nursing field.
