Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, is a private, four-year college with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program built around close faculty attention and a liberal arts foundation. Students study assessment, pharmacology, pathophysiology, evidence-based practice, communication, leadership, patient safety, and community health. The program is campus-based, with classroom learning supported by skills lab work, simulation, and supervised clinical rotations in local health care settings.
The nursing curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level practice as registered nurses and for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. Wesleyan’s small setting can be appealing to students who want personal support and a more intimate learning environment than many nearby larger public programs. The college also carries the historic distinction of being the first institution chartered to grant degrees to women, which adds to its reputation.
