Loch Raven requires a signed independent contractor agreement before you work a shift there. It records terms rather than teaching you anything, and once signed it lives on your Nursa profile alongside your license and your other nursing credentials.
What does contractor status not change?
Your clinical obligations. Working as a 1099 contractor changes the employment relationship, not the standard of care you owe a resident. Your scope of practice, your license obligations, and Loch Raven's clinical policies apply to your shift exactly as they would to a staff nurse, and so does the duty to report a concern.
Does the agreement cover insurance?
Read it and find out rather than assuming either way. Some contractor agreements expect the clinician to carry professional liability coverage, some handle it differently, and some say nothing at all. Worth understanding before you sign rather than after an incident, and Loch Raven can tell you what they expect.
Is this the same agreement other Autumn Lake buildings use?
Similar, most likely, but each building keeps its own record and the terms are not guaranteed to match word for word. Read the one in front of you even if you signed at another Autumn Lake location last month. The 2 minutes it costs is the cheapest part of the process.
What if you decide not to sign?
Nothing happens, which is rather the point. The agreement is a condition of working at Loch Raven, not an obligation you take on by opening it. If the terms do not suit you, shifts at that building stay closed and everything else on the platform stays open.

There is no course and no certificate. The signed agreement is the credential.
