Summit Park requires a signed independent contractor agreement before you work a shift at the building. It is a document rather than a course, and the signed copy goes on your Nursa profile alongside your license and your other nursing credentials.
How does this compare to a hospital PRN pool?
A hospital's internal PRN pool usually makes you an employee of that hospital, with a minimum number of shifts to commit to each month and availability to submit against a schedule. This is not that. Summit Park is not adding you to its roster, no monthly minimum comes attached to the agreement, and what you request is entirely up to you. The trade is that nothing is guaranteed on either side.
Can either side end the agreement?
Usually yes, and the document should say how. Look for the termination clause before you sign, since it tells you what notice is expected and what happens to anything already scheduled. Payment for shifts you have already worked should not be affected by ending an agreement, but confirm that in the text rather than assuming it.
What happens if you do not work there for a while?
The credential stays on your profile. An agreement does not lapse because you have gone 6 months without picking up at Summit Park, so coming back does not usually mean starting over. If the building has revised its terms in the meantime, you would sign the newer version, which is worth checking before a first shift back.
Adding it to your profile
The signed agreement is the credential. Nothing to study, nothing to pass.
- Tap Menu in the top left of the Nursa app.
- Select Profile.
- Scroll to the Credentials section.
- Tap Add your Credential.
- Upload your signed agreement as a PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG.
