Cascades Health Care | Orientation

Cascades Health Care requires a facility orientation before you work a shift at one of its buildings. It is training rather than paperwork, and completion lands on your Nursa profile with your other nursing credentials.

What does the orientation cover?

Orientation front-loads what a clinician needs before walking onto an unfamiliar unit.

  • Facility policies, including attendance, dress code, and shift expectations.
  • Resident rights, abuse prevention, and how to escalate a concern.
  • Infection control and personal protective equipment.
  • Emergency codes, fire response, and evacuation routes.
  • Charting standards and shift handoff expectations.

Does orientation satisfy your other credentials?

No, and this is where clinicians lose time. Orientation touches subjects that also exist as standalone credentials, so a module covering how to recognize mistreatment does not clear a separate abuse training credential, and it does not alter the duties you already carry as mandated reporters. Each stays its own item on your profile, and clearing one does nothing for the others.

How long should you set aside?

Longer than the module count suggests. Self-paced training sprawls when it is done in pieces between other things, and orientation is easier to absorb in one sitting than across a week of interruptions. Give yourself an uninterrupted block, and take it before you start browsing shifts rather than after one you want appears.

Complete your orientation

Because this is facility-specific training, it comes from Cascades rather than an outside certifying body, and it does not transfer to buildings run by anyone else.

Find the Cascades orientation in ShiftReady and work through every module, then record it:

  1. Tap Menu in the top left of the Nursa app.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Scroll to the Credentials section.
  4. Tap Add your Credential.
  5. Upload your document as a PDF, WORD, JPG, or PNG.

Sign up as a clinician and clear orientation once so Cascades shifts stay open to you.

Testimonial about Nursa

A better control of my time!”

“I love that I can choose my schedule and not stress so much about work. I also love that I can be responsible for my own work. I now feel like I get treated the way I deserve and still make a huge difference in my patients’ lives.”

Testimonial about Nursa from the real users

Nursa is always there for me!”

“I love the easy user-friendly app with clear pictures and information about a facility. I work with other agencies and the Nursa app is most visually appealing! The best thing about Nursa though is the professional attitude of the staff whenever you call or need help. Again, surpasses other agencies”
