Good Shepherd facilities may require an orientation before approving clinicians to pick up shifts at their location. It is one of several Good Shepherd records that can appear on a credential list, and it covers the training side rather than the paperwork side.
Orientation and onboarding confirmation are different items
Good Shepherd also keeps a confirmation record noting that onboarding steps are complete. The two are not interchangeable. An orientation is material to work through, while a confirmation attests that something has already happened. A posting may name either or both, and each is tracked as its own entry on a profile.
What these records typically include
Orientation compresses what a permanent hire absorbs over an onboarding period into something a clinician can complete beforehand.
- Facility protocols covering how the operator's locations run their units.
- Standards that apply to clinicians working on a registry basis.
- Resident care policies specific to the operator.
Because it is built around particular buildings, it belongs to that operator rather than to an outside certifying body, and it does not carry to another.
Matching records to a posting
Where an operator keeps several records under one name, the credential list on a PRN job is what identifies which applies. Matching the name as written is more reliable than assuming a related record already on file covers it, especially for clinicians building up a profile across several facilities.
How to add this credential to your Nursa profile
Facility orientations are added the same way as any other credential.
- Navigate to your Profile in the Nursa app.
- Locate Credentials on your profile view.
- Select the "+" button.
- Select "Add Credential."
- Select the credential you want to add.
- Follow the instructions to add your credential.
