PRN LPN Jobs in Kenansville: The Perfect Solution for Nurses

Kenansville, North Carolina, a small town with a population of just over 800, may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of job opportunities for nurses. However, with the increasing demand for healthcare services and the national nursing shortage, Kenansville has become a hub for PRN LPN (practical nurse) jobs. These flexible, as-needed jobs are a perfect solution for both nurses and healthcare facilities. This article will explore the need for PRN nursing jobs in Kenansville, the daily life of an LPN, and the unique benefits and challenges of working in this field.

The Need for LPNs in the US and Kenansville

The United States is facing a severe nursing shortage, which is expected to continue well into the future. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for licensed practical nurses is projected to grow by 5 percent from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations. Kenansville, like many other towns in America, is also feeling the effects of this shortage, leading to an increased need for PRN LPNs.

One of the primary reasons for the nursing shortage is the aging population. As the baby boomer generation enters retirement age, there is an increased demand for healthcare services, leading to a strain on the existing nursing workforce. Additionally, high turnover rates and nurse burnout have also contributed to the shortage, leaving many facilities understaffed and in desperate need of qualified nurses available at a moment's notice.

PRN LPNs: The Solution for Understaffing and Coverage Needs

As the demand for healthcare services continues to rise, facilities face the challenge of covering shifts with limited staffing. This is where PRN LPNs come in. A PRN LPN is a practical nurse who works on an as-needed basis, filling in for shifts left vacant due to staff absences, patient demand, or any other reason. These practical nurses are an essential part of the healthcare system, providing much-needed support to facilities struggling with understaffing and maintaining quality patient care.

Common Healthcare Settings for LPNs in Kenansville

LPNs work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician offices, and home healthcare agencies. In Kenansville, some of the common healthcare settings for LPNs include Duplin Medical Center and Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation. In these settings, LPNs work alongside registered nurses (RNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), providing direct patient care, monitoring patient vital signs, administering medication, and performing other tasks per the RN's direction.

What Is Unique about Working as an LPN in This City?

LPNs in Kenansville often receive recognition and appreciation from their patients and fellow healthcare professionals, making their work even more fulfilling.

A Typical Day for an LPN in Kenansville

A typical day for an LPN in Kenansville starts with reviewing the patient assignment for the day. Depending on the facility's needs, LPNs may work day, evening, or night shifts. Once the patient assignment is reviewed, LPNs begin their duties, which include providing direct patient care, monitoring patients' vitals, administering medications, and documenting patient information accurately. LPNs may also assist RNs with bedside procedures and provide patient education and support. Shifts can be fast-paced and challenging, but with a supportive team and a caring community, LPNs in Kenansville feel a strong sense of job satisfaction.

However, with the right training and support, LPNs can thrive in their careers. The sense of fulfillment that comes from making a difference in patients' lives and working in a tight-knit community makes the challenges worth it.

The Advantages of PRN LPN Jobs
