Robley Rex VA Medical Center, located in Louisville, Kentucky, has served veterans since 1952 and now provides care to more than 150,000 veterans across a 35-county area spanning Kentucky and southern Indiana. As a VA teaching institution, the medical center offers extensive learning opportunities supported by modern technology and active research programs.
Through its Post-Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Residency program, the medical center supports new BSN graduates during their first year of professional practice. Participants commit to completing the full one-year residency, and applicants apply with a resume, a 400-word personal statement explaining their interest in the program, two letters of recommendation, and official transcripts.
As part of the VA's national PB-RNR network, the program gives new nurses a structured, mission-driven transition into practice within a well-established teaching hospital. The scale of the facility's patient population and its teaching-hospital resources offer residents a wide range of clinical exposure during their residency year.
