Curtis Anderson, CEO of Nursa, attended Athelas - Taking Back Healthcare at the end of June 2025 to discuss one of the biggest challenges in healthcare: workforce shortages. More importantly, the discussion focused on what can be done to address these shortages.
Anderson highlighted how Nursa's platform is transforming staffing management for healthcare facilities, taking schedules and other documentation from paper to our organized software.
He also shared that it currently takes only three clicks for a facility to list a shift on the platform. In the future, the process will go down to zero clicks.
Anderson also talks about the importance of automation in staffing and emphasizes how Nursa verifies licenses and conducts background checks on nurses before they pick up shifts.
Nursa’s mission
Nursa started with the mission of delivering the proper care patients need and deserve wherever they are and the belief that reliable nurses are essential to providing quality healthcare.
Acknowledging the nursing shortage throughout the U.S., Nursa helps facilities offer clinicians more flexibility, which allows them to overcome many challenges, like burnout and high turnover.
As Anderson expressed, "We fundamentally believe at Nursa that each of us is an ‘I,’ not an ‘it,’ a subject, not an object." This belief is reflected in the autonomy and flexibility that both facilities and clinicians have in posting and picking up jobs on Nursa’s marketplace.
Nursa's goals for the future
Anderson pointed to Nursa's ongoing focus on expanding healthcare access so more patients receive assistance from reliable nurses wherever they are, including home care.
