Despite nursing being a noble profession, a nurse must possess both a high level of mental and physical stamina to navigate long shifts and the pressure that often comes along with the job. On the contrary, many medical professionals agree that being a nurse is one of the most rewarding careers out there. With that said, finding the best place to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse, (LPN) can predict whether a nurse thrives or not.

Perhaps one of the greatest places to work as an LPN is in Denver, Colorado. In fact, Colorado is rated as the fourth-highest paying state for nursing professionals to work, according to a recent study. Moreover, Denver ranks pretty well in terms of nurses' average pay, climate, and social life. If you are a medical professional looking for a high-paying LPN job in Denver, you may want to check out what makes this metropolis city truly an ideal place for dedicated nurses to pick up a shift or two.

Average Salaries for LPNs Living In Denver

Working as an LPN usually involves working under the supervision of a doctor and a Registered Nurse (RN). Saying that, while an LPN may not have the same medical authority as an RN, they still play a vital role within the healthcare system. Moreover, LPNs are always in demand. If you are a clinician or an LPN and are currently residing in Denver, you may quickly find out that pay is one of the key reasons you should consider working in Denver as an LPN. As a matter of fact, the average salary for an LPN job in Denver is $58,202 which is 6% above the national average, according to Indeed's salary calculator. Furthermore, as the demand for nursing professionals continues to rise with an expected increase of 29.5 percent in 2028, even more, LPN PRN (as needed shifts) will inevitably open up to cover healthcare facilities’ additional staffing needs.

Currently, some of the top-paying LPN jobs in Denver are located both in the heart of Denver’s city center and a few prominent suburbs that surround the metropolitan area. With advanced technology and a long list of specialty clinical services, hospitals such as Porter Adventist, located in the University of Denver/Harvard Park area of Denver, are considered some of the best hospitals to work at as an LPN. Another noteworthy hospital where LPNs can search for competitive pay in Denver is the Children’s Hospital Colorado, which offers good pay and flexible scheduling. Additionally, the Lutheran Medical Center staff is known to be friendly, positive, and warm, which can all benefit a PRN nurse who is covering shifts in a new working environment. Ultimately, an LPN looking for work in Denver can expect to be rewarded with plenty of opportunities and room for growth as a nursing professional in the field.

Denver Activities and Social Scene

High pay and competitive salaries may be one of the top reasons to consider moving to Denver to work as an LPN. Aside from the high salaries for LPNs, a nurse may also be attracted to Denver's social life. That’s because Denver is not only considered a globally fluent city, but also a bustling metropolis that has become a melting pot for people of all backgrounds to meet and mingle. That said, there are plenty of attractions and activities an LPN looking for jobs in Denver can engage in during their free time.

For winter sports enthusiasts, the city is widely known for diverse, world-class skiing venues scattered across the Rocky Mountains. Ice skating is also a favorite sport in the city. For nurses that love beer, this mile-high city happens to be one of the best beer destinations in the country and hosts the second most microbreweries in the nation. There are also numerous joints for foodies, including the 16th Street Mall, Tacos Tequila Whiskey, Tavernetta, and Linger. Consequently, Denver is not a city that will bore a nurse socialite looking for a few ways to integrate into a new social scene.

Why You Should Consider PRN LPN Work in Denver, Colorado

Denver is a city with an economy that has been steadily booming for many years. This may be a result of high-paying jobs from top companies including tech, that have since been transplanted to the Denver metro area. In addition to competitive salaries for LPNs, the city of Denver enjoys comfortable summers, as they are less humid compared to other cities. Moreover, Denver expects around 300 days of sunshine on average a year. Subsequently, the stars shine brighter in Denver at night, and the skies are bluer than in most parts of the country due to the city’s elevation and high desert climate.
