MSOE’s nursing program is built on an experiential, technology-forward model that sets it apart from traditional liberal arts programs. The Traditional BSN is a direct-entry, four-year track that eliminates the "pre-nursing" waiting period; students begin nursing-specific coursework and laboratory experiences in their first year. For career changers, the Accelerated Second-Degree BSN (ASD) is a 16-month, year-round intensive program for those with a prior bachelor's degree. Graduate students can pursue a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with specialized tracks in Psychiatric Mental Health, Health Informatics, and Leadership & Management, reflecting MSOE’s institutional strength in data and systems engineering.

The program is centered in the Ruehlow Nursing Complex, a 25,000-square-foot facility designed to mimic a modern hospital. The complex features four high-fidelity simulation rooms, a central nurses' station, and a Home Care Lab—a fully functional apartment where students practice community health and assistive transitions. Additionally, nursing students utilize the Diercks Hall computational science building, where they use Anatomage Tables for 3D virtual dissection and engage in AR/VR simulations to visualize complex physiological systems. Clinical rotations are conducted at premier Milwaukee systems, including Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin, and a unique partnership with Rogers Behavioral Health for mental health specialties. This combination of "Rosie" (MSOE’s supercomputer-powered AI insights) and hands-on clinical hours ensures that MSOE nurses are uniquely prepared for the future of medical technology.

Compared to other regional programs, MSOE is distinguished by its Direct-Entry guarantee and its "Nursing Living Learning Community," where students live and study together in dedicated housing. The program’s rigor is evident in its 100% NCLEX-RN pass rate for 2024–2025, placing it among the top-performing schools in the Midwest. Admission is competitive but holistic; while a 3.0+ GPA is standard, MSOE emphasizes "The MSOE Mindset"—seeking students who are technically curious and service-oriented. Freshmen applicants can also choose to go test-optional, though strong math and science scores are highly recommended.
