Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, is a private, four-year Seventh-day Adventist university offering a campus-based Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The program blends classroom learning, skills labs, and supervised clinical practice so students can build strong foundations in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, health assessment, evidence-based care, communication, and leadership.
Nursing students gain experience in local hospitals and community settings in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and graduate ready to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. The program’s faith-based mission, small-school setting, and close faculty support may appeal to students who want a more personal learning environment than many larger nearby nursing schools. Southwestern Adventist’s nursing program is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
