Valencia College

Valencia College offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) designed specifically for individuals who already hold an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in nursing and an unencumbered Florida RN license. This upper-division program focuses on the professional development of working nurses, allowing them to transition into leadership and specialized clinical roles. The curriculum totals 120 credit hours, including 30 credits of core BSN coursework such as nursing research, ethical and legal issues, and healthcare informatics. Students master core competencies in interprofessional collaboration and evidence-based practice, ensuring they can manage the complexities of modern healthcare environments.

The program is delivered in a flexible online format to accommodate professional schedules, with the exception of two critical experiential learning components. Students complete approximately 25 hours of face-to-face clinical practice distributed between the Community and Public Health Nursing course and the final Nursing Capstone. These experiences allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to community health challenges and leadership projects within their own local settings. Accredited by the CCNE, the program boasts strong outcomes, including a 99% job placement rate for nursing graduates. Compared to traditional on-campus tracks, Valencia stands out for its "Concurrent" partnership with the University of Central Florida and its ability to let students finish their baccalaureate degree in as little as one to two years.
