Great Opportunities for LPN Jobs in Chicago, Illinois

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) can find some of the world's most prestigious hospitals and healthcare facilities in Chicago, a city located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Chicago has many cultures, art, music, architecture, medicine, and restaurants. If you are a local or out-of-state licensed practical nurse (LPN) who wants to explore the city while picking up a few PRN shifts using Nursa, Chicago is a suitable place.

As an LPN, you will likely work alongside registered nurses (RNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other allied healthcare professionals.

Top Hospitals and Medical Centers in Chicago

Chicago boasts some of the world's highest-rated hospitals and health care facilities. Among the hospitals rated by US News and World Report, Northwestern Memorial Hospital takes the top spot. This learning hospital is ideally suited for newly starting LPNs and specialized and experienced LPNs in fields such as progressive care units, telemetry certified units, and allied health positions. The hospital also conducts clinical research, a promising area for LPNs to pursue. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is not only the top hospital in Chicago; it's the highest-rated in the entire state and is number ten in the nation.

Rush University Medical Center is the number two hospital in Chicago and again in the entire state. The medical center focuses heavily on helping diverse community projects and is ranked number nineteenth in the nation. All three hospitals within the system have also received the Magnet Status for nursing excellence, which is given by The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The University of Chicago Medicine ranks third on a list of top hospitals in the city and state of Illinois. It is ranked number two for its children's hospital and is nationally recognized in six adult specialties. With the University of Chicago Medicine being a teaching network, they regularly look for recent LPNs for PRN shifts while using Nursa

Exciting Things to Do and Places to Explore in Chicago, Illinois

Foodies will have a fantastic time seeking unique and adventurous restaurants in Chicago. One that stands out among the rest is Schwa. The restaurant specializes in molecular gastronomy, an experience that taps all five senses with infusions, smokes, and gases like liquid nitrogen. The menu is experimental and is located near Wicker Park.

When you want to see everything around you, all you have to do is go up. The 360 Chicago Observation Deck sits about 1,000 feet above the city on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center. While it is a convenient place for selfies, the 94th floor also houses a bar to help view the four surrounding states that can be seen on clear days. It also has a thrill ride to take passengers and "Tilt" them over the edge of the building.

Another great way to spend the day out and about while learning and having fun with hands-on exhibits is by visiting the Museum of Science and History. With over fourteen acres of learning experiments, submarines, and more, it will take the average visitor more than three hours to explore the building.

The Riverwalk of Chicago is a top attraction, with over 3,500 restaurants within a three-mile radius and 550 attractions within a six-mile radius. It's easy to tell that the Riverwalk is directly in downtown Chicago. The Riverwalk is a hub for some of the best art and art galleries, events, and shopping Chicago offers. It's like South Beach, Miami in Chicago.
