About King's College

King’s College is a private, four-year Catholic college that provides innovative pathways to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The college offers a unique 1+2+1 Dual Degrees in Nursing program in partnership with Luzerne County Community College, allowing students to earn both an associate and a baccalaureate degree in four years while living on the King's campus. Additionally, the college provides a 12-month hybrid Accelerated BSN for those with prior degrees and a flexible RN-to-BSN track for licensed nurses. The curriculum requires 120 to 123 credit hours, integrating professional nursing science with a core liberal arts foundation that focuses on social responsibility and ethical decision-making.

Students benefit from the newly redeveloped Kowalski Center for Advanced Healthcare Education, an $8 million facility featuring pediatric, physical rehabilitation, and cadaver labs equipped with augmented reality technology. Clinical hours are conducted in community and agency-based settings, where students apply classroom theory to real-world patient care. The program emphasizes a humanistic service model, specifically addressing the needs of underserved populations. In 2023, the 1+2+1 dual-degree cohort achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam.

Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), King's College is recognized for its small class sizes and engaged mentorship. Compared to larger institutions in Northeastern Pennsylvania, King's stands out for its "family-like" atmosphere and its commitment to first-generation student success and military-friendly education.
