Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital is a nonprofit academic medical center located on Old York Road in the Logan section of North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Long known as Albert Einstein Medical Center, the hospital joined Jefferson Health through the system's merger with Einstein Healthcare Network and later adopted the Jefferson Einstein name. It remains one of the larger acute care hospitals in the city and a longstanding safety-net provider for the neighborhoods around it.
Nurses and clinicians at Jefferson Einstein work across a broad range of inpatient and specialty services, including emergency care, critical care, medical-surgical units, cardiac care, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, women's health, and behavioral health. As a teaching hospital, the facility supports graduate medical education and serves as a clinical training site for nursing and allied health students, which shapes a practice environment where bedside care and education happen side by side. The patient population reflects the surrounding community, so staff encounter high acuity and complex social needs alongside routine care. Compared with other Philadelphia-area hospitals, Jefferson Einstein pairs system-level resources with a community-rooted mission in North Philadelphia.
