About Salem State University

Salem State University, in Salem, Massachusetts, is a public four-year university with a School of Nursing that prepares students for professional practice through classroom learning, simulation, and supervised clinical experiences. Its nursing options include prelicensure and RN-to-BSN study, with additional graduate pathways available. Students build core skills in health assessment, pharmacology, evidence-based practice, communication, leadership, and patient-centered care.

The prelicensure program prepares graduates for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. Salem State offers a practical public-university option on the North Shore, giving students access to regional clinical sites and a more affordable path than many private nearby programs.
