How PRN RN Jobs Fit into the New Gig Economy

With the landscape of the medical field being as fluid and ever-changing in today's society, the medical profession has had to adjust to the staffing needs of the patients. There has been a mass exodus of highly qualified medical staff and workers, and filling that gap has created a gig economy that hospitals, nursing homes, and medical facilities have to adjust to. The answer to filling the shifts, beds, and profits for hospitals is to turn to PRN shift assignments for RNs to work. This is beneficial for both the hospitals and the RNs. The hospitals get to fill per diem shifts, while RNs get to pick where they want to work, when, how long, and for how much. For more information on how RNs are fitting into the gig economy in the state of Washington, read here.
