Not only do certified nursing assistants put so much into the delicate and precious work they perform on the job, assisting patients in performing their activities of daily living (ADLs), but they are also there for the emotional support of those they so selflessly serve. Nursing assistants care for patients in their most vulnerable conditions, often when they can no longer care for themselves and often at the end stages of their life. That's right. CNAs are often the ones at a patient's bedside, holding their hand as they take their last breath, in many cases without any family members present. Furthermore, CNAs are often subjected to workplace injury, and The National Nursing Assistant Survey found more than half of all nursing assistants have been injured at least once on the job. It's a noble profession, and CNAs must adhere to licensing requirements to maintain their licenses and continue to provide care to patients who need it most.

Otherwise, if you are considering getting started in the nursing field but are hesitant to leave your high school or college party days behind, learn about PRN jobs for CNAs in Miami, and in Will Smith’s words, “Party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach till the break of dawn. “Welcome to Miami.” “Bienvenidos a Miami.””

Is Miami a Good Place to Live?

Aside from being one of the most notorious party towns in USA, Miami has a lot to offer. It is a melting pot of cultures with authentic Latin American and Caribbean neighborhoods to explore.

  • You can stroll through the mural lined streets of Little Havana and stop for something to eat or for some shopping at the vibrant Calle Ocho.
  • For Afro-Caribbean musical performances, art galleries, and folk dancing, you can visit Little Haiti.

This international crowd has also brought along exotic dishes from around the world, so foodies will fall in love with Miami’s culinary pleasures as well.

  • Venezuelan arepas
  • Peruvian ceviche
  • Haitian pork griot
  • Cuban ‘cafecito’ and ‘pastelitos’ – and, of course, the famous Cuban sandwich

In addition, Miami boasts beautiful white sand beaches with turquoise water and all the outdoor activities and water sports your heart desires.

  • You cannot miss the iconic Lummus Park – who knows, you might even be recruited as an extra in a movie.
  • South beach is another unmissable spot in Miami. Let day turn into night and stick around for some of the city’s best nightlife.

We’ve talked a lot about eating and partying, but you don’t have to worry about getting out of shape; Miami is just as much a health-conscious city as it is a party city. Residents enjoy working out, and you can find an all organic, cold-pressed juice bar on every corner.

How to Become a CNA

Studying to become a CNA is an excellent decision for anyone interested in nursing. It will help you decide if the profession is for you, determine which settings you enjoy the most, develop valuable skills, and even pay for nursing school. The best part is that you can become a CNA in as little as four weeks, and then you’ll be ready to look for a job. If you prefer, you can take your classes online, but you will be required to complete in-person clinical rotations.

CNA Salary in Miami, Florida

Although salaries for CNAs in Florida are below the national average, we are going to let you in on a little secret to significantly increase your pay while living in the Magic City.

  • National average salary for CNAs: $33,250
  • Average salary for CNAs in Florida: $29,840

One way for you to live in Miami and earn more than the national average salary for a CNA is to work PRN. The term PRN stands for the Latin ‘pro re nata’, which means as needed. Healthcare facilities create PRN jobs to cover extraordinary staffing needs.
